Energy Saving Testimonials

I’m very happy with the work and responsiveness in helping us achieve comfort in our home. We have a 1939 cottage in Bethesda that has a DIY upstairs addition and a later professional addition. Since the professional addition was done in 2010, we have noticed that the upstairs gets very hot in the summer and the 1st floor is uncomfortably cold in the winter. My wife and kids have complained for years, and finally I reached a breaking point. I was expecting a massive expense to tear walls, install insulation and buy all new windows. However, Pascale recommended doing a lot of basic attic insulation, venting, and leak sealing before looking into such major expenses. While additionally earning rebates, our upstairs no longer has that Amazon River basin vibe even in the heat of July. Our kids, who had been sleeping on couches in the summer, can now sleep in their beds again. Aside from that, Pascale’s team is very professional, courteous, and neat.

Pascal and her crew were wonderful. She genuinely cared about us and tried to talk us through a short term fix over the phone before they could arrive. They moved and reinstalled a basic fan for free. Pascal patiently explained everything. There were government-funded rebates available for almost all of the work we had done and they explained that clearly. I would highly recommend EEE to others!

Description of work:
Our HVAC unit was fine but was inefficiently cooling and heating the house. In the summertime, the top level would not keep cool. EEE added 15 inches of insulation in the attic, added an attic fan, replaced all of the registers downstairs so they could close, added a house fan, and more.

Pascale spent about two-and-a-half hours at our house, and we learned more in that time than from countless visits by HVAC engineers and other contractors over the four years since we bought the property. The main factor that led us to seek an audit was an occurrence of attic when it was very cold earlier in this month, which made me realize that I have a serious problem with hot and humid air rising. Pascale did a full diagnosis, not only confirming my suspicions that light fittings were not well insulated, but identifying countless other problems that can be fixed. This was a very valuable conversation.
