The energy audit done by this company is very comprehensive and assessed and analyzed every aspect of energy use in our home. Pascale (the auditor) inspected everything from the appliances to the heating/cooling system, insulation, air leaks and gaps, etc. A special fan is set up at one door and is used to draw air through the house and measurements are taken with a digital device.

Performed a comprehensive energy audit, complete with blower and a host of meters. She examined and tested the house from basement to attic with her infrared device to inventory any outside air leaks.
She was methodical and thorough with her survey. After spending about 3 hours looking around, she then took me around the house to point out the leaks. Since the blower at the front door was sucking air from the house, I could feel the cold air wherever it was seeping in. She patiently explained what was causing the different leaks or, in the case of the furnace or appliances, the excess power usage. Then, she offered detailed, practical correctives for each problem. Today, six days later, she emailed me a detailed follow-up report complete with pictures outlining her findings and, again, providing remedies as well as reliable contractors or suppliers of green home equipment. This is a service that EVERYONE should get, provided by a vendor I'd recommend without reservation.

We knew the energy efficiency of our house was poor since we have been quite cold this winter and the furnace never seemed to be able to keep up with the outside temperature. What we didn't know was what would help and what could be done at a reasonable cost. Among other things, the audit determined how badly our house leaked, where it leaked most, such as at the windows and the gap between our siding and brickwork, how much insulation we had and where it would be most effective to add insulation, and what other things could be done to improve our heating efficiency. But it didn't stop there. The audit examined the efficiency of our electrical appliances and lighting and our plumbing. The report that we got back was one of the most professional I have ever seen. It detailed everything that was found during the audit, what could/should be done ranging from the easiest and cheapest to more costly actions and it even provided possible suppliers and their websites/contact information for the materials and work we would need. It has been extremely valuable.

I was very impressed from the start of our audit. I thought our appointment might be cancelled because of the ice storm the previous night. However, right at the time scheduled I saw Ms. Maslin walking up to our door with her equipment (she couldn't drive up our street due to the icing so she carried her stuff the last block). She was extremely professional in describing what she was going to do, set up her things and went through the house top to bottom, inside and out. After finishing she gave me a detailed briefing and then, within a week, provided the great report that I referred to above. One of the things that that was particularly helpful was the discussion of the difference between things that would cut energy costs and those that might not cut costs much but would have a big impact on our comfort. Throughout, she was extremely courteous and friendly. Since getting the report we have followed many of its suggestions and have seen a marked difference in our comfort and the ability of our furnace to keep up with the outside temperature.

The contractor, Pascale Maslin arrived to my home at the scheduled appointed time. She began her energy audit by walking with me through out my home examining doors, windows, light fixtures, appliances, fireplace, attic access panels, and etc. She was very detail in pointing out to me minor improvements and routine maintenance that I could perform on my own, without the assistance of a contractor, just to make my home more energy efficient. She even made some minor repairs right there on the spot with no extra charge to me. She came prepared with a handy little paint brush to wipe away dust and dirt in my windows and her own test equipment: (1) door fan to pin point drafts (and I had many); and (2) electrical meters to monitor and identify the amount of wattage my freezer, hot water heater, and refrigerator were using. I was very impressed with her "green" knowledge. The entire audit took four hours in which Ms. Pascale got on her hands and knees examining door stops, seals around my windows, refrigerator, and freezer to isolate problem areas that have been causing me to pay large sums of money to the gas and electric companies. I received a very detail Energy Audit Report that documented all of my problem areas, suggestions for improvements, and internet sites where I can obtain energy efficient supplies and techniques to assist me in making my home more energy efficient and lowering my gas and electric bills. Copies of my gas and electric bills were also provided so Ms. Pascale so she could analyze gas and electric usage for the entire year.. One other thing that impressed me about my experience with Ms. Pascale is she never tried to sell me anything. She recommended some major improvements that were big dollar repair items. Her advice to me was to go back to Angie's List, obtain certified contractors and at least three estimates for the recommendations mentioned. I could appreciate that information because it told me that her energy audit stood on its own merit with no favors owed to anyone. I've begun to implement many of Ms. Pascale's energy recommendations and improvements techniques and I look forward to paying out less money in energy costs in the future.

On short notice (2 days) I set up an appointment and Pascale, the owner, came to my home to perform the audit. She arrived exactly when she said she would and spent several hours performing a thorough audit. She performed a blower test, checked windows, doors, fireplace and outlets(!) for leaks. Inspected all appliances including going up to the roof of my condo to look at the heat pump/air compressor. Together we did some minor repairs on the spot. Then she went over her notes with me in person and told me to expect a thorough, written report in the mail soon.

Clearly Pascale's professionalism positively influences her work. She was prompt, thorough as well as creative. Being a condo owner I was afraid there weren't many possible or inexpensive things I could do to make my unit more efficient. I came away with a long list of easy, inexpensive do-it-myself items, and feeling empowered to do them.

Terrific!!! From the first phone call until she left our house, Pascale was very patient with questions, and showed us all kinds of things about our home we never knew. She showed us what we could do ourselves and told us what things need a professional. We're not very handy so her showing us how to prepare our windows and doors for the winter was marvelous. Best of all was watching her deal with some of the quirks of our old house - things we would never have noticed or thought to address. Since they're specific to our home, a book wouldn't have helped. She explained everything slowly and patiently to two novices.

Trying to be more eco-friendly as well as save money on my energy bills in this time of rising energy costs, I was referred to Energy Efficiency Experts by a friend who had used them in the past and ended up saving around 30% on his utility bills. I was intrigued, gave them a call, and set up an appointment for a week later. Pascale Maslin, the owner of the company, actually performed the audit herself, with which I was very impressed. She arrived at my house on time with all the necessary tools. The audit took around 4-5 hours, and Pascale made a thorough inspection of all appliances associated with energy usage. Doors, windows, electronics, lighting, HVAC, hot water heater, dishwasher, toilets, washer and dryer, insulation, etc. She walked me through what could be done to increase my home's efficiency, and then installed weather-stripping on my doors at no additional charge. A week later, I received a report via email with all the things Pascale and I had discussed during the audit as well as short and long term strategies to make my home more energy efficient. I had a great experience, and really recommend Energy Efficiency Experts to you all.
